Platinum #335: Super Destronaut DX (PS4 AS)

Hey there!

The last stack is now done too. I really enjoyed it every version.

What is the game all about?
Are you a fan of Space Invaders? Well, then Super Destronaut DX is the right game for you.
The principle of this game is simple. Shoot the waves of aliens, which are coming from top to bottom, with your ship before they shoot you. Whenever you kill an orange enemy, your weapon will be upgraded temporarily.
There are 3 different modes, classic, time attack and hardcore, in which defeat waves after waves of enemies. Your goal in these modes is to set a highscore.
Then there’s also challenge mode. In this mode, you can find 30 different challenges, ranging from reaching a specific score to shoot a specific number of enemies. Most of these challenges are very easy and you will do them on first try, but there are also a few tough cookies in there.
Even though the gameplay is simple, Super Destronaut DX can be very addictive.

What about trophies?
The trophies in these games are very easy. All you need to do is to reach a specific score in classic, time attack and hardcore mode, as well as beating 12 different challenges. All of this shouldn’t take you more than 20-30 minutes.
If you want to know more about these trophies, and see some gameplay, check out this video by IBadDriverI.

Where can I get this game?
Super Destronaut DX is available digital only and can be found in the EU and NA PSN store at the moment. It’s cross-buy between PS4 and Vita with each version having its own stack.
Within the next weeks, the game will also become available in the HK store. Of course, each version will get its own stack too.
If you need PSN cards, you can buy them at play-asia.com or at scdkey.com. There you get digital codes, which will be send to you via e-mail within minutes.

As a trophy hunter, should I get this game?
With a very low difficulty and price of only 4.99€ / 4.99€ it’s a must-have for trophy hunters. Especially with the PS4 and Vita versions having their own stacks.

Platinum #334: Perils of Baking

Hey there!

Nice retro-inspired 2D platformer. Secret level 1 was a bitch, but the rest was easy and fun.

What is the game all about?
In Perils of Baking you take control of the younger of two brothers. Those brothers are famous for their baking but the older one has gone made due to a dark artifact. It’s now up to you to stop him. For this, you must jump, swim, fly, and drive to 40 2D levels. Those levels, as well as the graphics, are inspired by retro games. It always feels like you’re playing a NES game.
Each level is short and not much of a challenge and every tenth level you encounter your oversized brother and must fight him. To beat him, you must jump on his head a few times without dying.
There are also 13 bonus stages and 4 secret levels to discover. The secret levels are much harder than the normal levels. Especially secret level 1 gave me a hard time. I needed around 50 try to beat this level.
All in all, the game is easy but good. If you’re a fan of NES Jump N’ Runs, you’ll like this one too.

What about trophies?
You must beat all normal levels, secret levels and bonus stages, as well as doing some miscellaneous stuff like eating 10.000 food to unlock the Platinum Trophy. For further details, check out this guide from psnprofiles.com.

Where can I get this game?
Perils of Baking can be found in the NA and EU PSN stores.

Platinum #333: Claire (Vita)

Hey there!

Damn, this game sucks! I'm so glad that I'm done now with the VIta version too.

What is the game all about?
Claire is a 2D horror survival similar to The Coma: Recut.
You take control over Claire, who visits her sick mother. After you return back home, you go to sleep and wake up in the middle of a nightmare. It’s your task to survive this madness and to do everything to wake up. During the game, you will encounter a dog, who will become your friend and will follow you through this nightmare.
Most of the time you’re only running from one room to another to proceed with the story. From time to time you will encounter other person, which you can save by fulfilling their tasks. You will also encounter creepy creatures, which will follow you. Every time you encounter such a creature, Claire’s panic level will raise and you’ll lose some health. Luckily, there are a lot of items you can use to replenish health.
The game is full of rooms and hard to see doors. Thus, it’s quite confusing and you can easily get lost. The only things I liked about this game are the awesome pixel art and the soundtrack, which fits perfectly to this game.

What about trophies?
There are only a few trophies but most of them are missable and annoying. Like finding all butterflies or picking-up over 80 items. There’s also a difficult related trophy for beating the game on the highest difficulty.
If you download the EU PS4 version (V1.04), you can unlock the Platinum Trophy very easily due to a glitch, in which you can change the difficulty from normal to nightmare near the end. This glitch has been patched in the NA PS4 version (V1.20), which forces you to play the whole game on nightmare.
This glitch doesn’t work on the Vita version of this game. Furthermore, there’s also a bug which forces you to pick up all collectibles on easy and then do another playthrough on nightmare, as there aren’t enough items on nightmare difficulty.
If you want to get this game done as quickly as possible, follow this video walkthrough by my buddy IBadDriverI. This video is made for the EU PS4 version. For all other versions, you can use this walkthrough from psnprofiles.com.

Where can I get this game?
Claire is available digitally in the EU and NA store. It’s cross-buy (PS4 + Vita) and each system has its own stack.
If you need PSN cards, you can buy them here. There you get digital codes, which will be send to you via e-mail within minutes.
There are also physical versions from limitedrungames.com for PS4 and Vita, but these are sold out already. If you’re interested in them, you must try your luck on eBay.

As a trophy hunter, should I get this game?
It’s worth to play the unpatched PS4 version but I wouldn’t go for the Vita version.
