Hey there!
After Energy Cycle and Energy Balance is Energy Invasion
the 3rd game from developer Sometimes You in which I unlocked
3 Platinum Trophies.
What is the game all about?
Energy Invasion is a mixture of brick breaker and twin stick
shooter. Just like in any other brick breaker game, you shoot your ball of the
paddle. But instead breaking the bricks by hitting them with the ball, you must
shoot them. Shooting is done with the right analog stick and the shots come out
of you ball.
The game offers 3 different modes which are all nearly identical. Invasion
Mode has 25 levels (layers). Linear Mode has 25 levels too but here the blocks
will move towards you. If you don’t break them in time, it’s game over. This
mode can be a little bit tricky in the later layers and you will need a bit of
luck. The last mode is Infinity Mode, which is exactly like Invasion Mode but
the layers are randomized and there’s no end.
For all modes 2 difficulties (normal and easy) are available. The
difference between these difficulties is that on easy no enemies will shoot at
you.
The Vita version is easier than the PS4 version as there are lesser bricks
in each level and in Linear Mode, the bricks drop at a much lower speed.
What about trophies?
To unlock the Platinum Trophy, you must beat
Invasion Mode and Linear Mode, and you must reach layer 30 in Infinity Mode. There’s
also a trophy for getting the special health pack bonus but this will happen
automatically during play.
The game itself isn’t that hard and you can play
all 3 modes on easy and still get all trophies. As said before, the hardest
part are the last layers of Linear Mode but you should be able to complete all
levels after a couple of retries.
One thing I’d like to clearly point out is that
you should never ever click on restart during any of these modes. This will
force you to replay the current mode from the beginning. If you’ve started a
mode, you must finish it in one go.
Where can I get this game?
Energy Invasion is available in the EU and NA PSN store for PS4
and Vita. Each version has its own stack, which means that you can unlock up to
3 Platinum Trophies with this game. Sadly, it’s not cross-buy but each version
cost only a few EUR / USD.
If you need PSN cards, you can buy them here.
There you get digital codes, which will be send to you via e-mail within
minutes.
As a trophy hunter, should I get this game?
Yes, but be prepared for a few frustrating moments in Linear Mode on
PS4. Otherwise it’s a cheap, quick and easy game.
