Hey there!
Platinum
#200 was getting nearer and nearer and I wanted to reach it as fast as
possible. Thus, I decided to keep looking out for some Visual Novels, as most
of them can be completed in a very short time without much effort. Luckily, I
found a very cheap copy of “Steins;Gate” on eBay.
Personally, I’d suggest to always buy used copies of Visual Novels and eBay
is a good place to look for them. You can also buy them directly via play-asia.com or solarisjapan.com, but keep in mind that
those games are expensive and that you might have to pay import taxes.
I’ve
already completed to different versions of this game so I knew that I’d need
roughly 2 hours for this game. Yeah, that’s what I thought but it turned out
that I was wrong.
I started
the game and followed the guide I found on ps3imports.org.
Soon I had to realize that the guide doesn’t work the way it used to. The game
doesn’t automatically stop at choices – or in this case e-mails – and trophies
didn’t unlock when they should. I had really a hard time as I had to start over
and over again and manually stop at the correct moments. My first playthrough
of the game took me several hours and I was missing a lot of trophies I should
have unlocked along the way. I decided to stop playing for today and get back
to the game later again. I was really angry because I didn’t know what went
wrong. Everyone else who was following this guide has completed the games
without any issues.
On the next
day, I started the game again. I still haven’t had any idea what went wrong, so
I started reading the guide again from the beginning. The first thing I did was
entering the settings of the game and behold, there was the mistake. One of the
settings I did was wrong. I changed it to the way it should be and started the
game. Now I could use auto-skip and the game automatically stopped at the
correct moments. What a relief! I was able to complete the second playthrough
without any issues. Unfortunately, I was missing a few trophies from the first
playthrough, so I had to do a little clean-up. All in all, I was able to unlock
all missing trophies on this day within 1.5-2 hours.
As you can
see, an easy game could become your worst nightmare if you don’t follow the
instructions correctly.
In the end,
I must admit that I don’t regret playing this game. Yes, I wasted some time and
it took me longer than planned but this was due to my own stupidity. At least I
learned to be more carefully.
I can
recommend this game to any trophy hunter who’s out for a quick Platinum Trophy.
There are also many different versions of the game. I think there are 9 or 10
Platinum Trophies you could unlock. And if you want to save some time, you can always
play one PS3 and one Vita version at the same time.
What’s left
to say is that the guide on ps3imports.org
works perfectly. You just need to make the correct settings!
Yours,
