Platinum #282: Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden

Hey there!

My second to last game of my current Artifex Mundi run. I must admit, this one had the weakest story so far.

What is the game all about?
Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden is a Point & Click by Artifex Mundi, released for PS4 in 2017.
You start at a sunken ship, in which you’re looking for Robert Marceau, a see explorer who disappeared a few years ago. Shortly after, you will enter an underwater city called Eden. That’s where your adventure really begins.
As usual, you have a few areas to explore in which you must complete a few mini-games as well as some Hidden Object Puzzles (HOPs) to proceed with the story. Alternatively, you can also switch to Domino, if you don’t want to play HOPs. In my point of view, Domino is easier than HOP.
As mentioned, the story is very weak and filled with a few “creepy” cut-scenes here and there. It’s not a big surprise that this is a standalone adventure.
Like in every other game by Artifex Mundi, you can choose between 2 difficulties. After beating the main story once, you unlock a short side story. This side story gives you some additional background information.

What about trophies?
To unlock the Platinum Trophy, you must beat the game on each difficulty, beat all HOPs, every Domino game as well as all mini-games without using hints and beat the side story. For this, you need two full playthroughs. On one, you need to beat the main story playing HOPs only and on the other one, you must play Domino only.
If you want to get this game done as quick as possible, I recommend using this walkthrough from casualgameguides.com.

Where can I get this game?
Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden is available digital only and can be found in the EU and NA store. There’s only one stack for this game.
If you need PSN cards, you can buy them at play-asia.com or at scdkey.com. There you get digital codes, which will be send to you via e-mail within minutes.

As a trophy hunter, should I get this game?
If you’re up for an easy Platinum Trophy, yes. If you’re looking for an enjoyable story, go buy Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart or Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek.
