Platinum #321: Obduction (JP)

Hey there!

Playing through this game for the fourth time was a chore. I hope there won't be any further stacks.

What is the game all about?

In Obduction, your adventure starts at night while walking beside a lake. A strange object falls from the sky and takes you with to a different and strange world.

In this world, you’ll meet a guy called. C.W. He will give you little information about the world you’ve been transported to and he will also give you a mission. Your goal is to water all 4 large trees in Obduction. Sounds easy, but those trees can only be visited after solving a lot of puzzles. And these puzzles can be very tricky. If you’ve ever played Myst, you know what I mean. This game is from the same developers as Myst.

The graphics in the game are awesome. There are some many details and sometimes you just want to stop and enjoy the beautiful landscape. The game also support VR and I think playing this game with a VR headset must be amazing. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the chance to play this game in VR.

What about trophies?

This game has only trophies (incl. Platinum) of which 8 are missable. There are 2 trophies related to endings but luckily, you don’t have to play the game twice to unlock both of them. If you save at the right place, you can unlock both endings in one playthrough.

If you play the game for the first time, you will need 8-10 hours. On your second / third playthrough you should be able to complete the game in 3-4 hours.

Where can I get this game?

Obduction is only available digital in the EU, NA, HK and JP store. Each store has its own version with its own trophy list.

As a trophy hunter, should I get this game?

Yes, but wait until the video walkthrough has been released and the game is on sale. Otherwise you’ll face an expensive, tricky and time consuming Platinum Trophy.
