Platinum #199: Chaos;Child らぶchu☆chu!! (PS4 Version)

Hey there!

Recently, there has been a great deal on the Japanese PSN Store. You’ve gotten 50% off if you buy 2 of the selected games. In my case, this meant get 2 games for the price of 1 as I’ve chosen Chaos;Child らぶchuchu!! and Steins;Gate 0 (both for PS4), as they had the same price. Today I’m gonna tell you something about Chaos;Child らぶchuchu!!. If you want to know more about Steins;Gate 0, check out my previous blog.

What is the game all about?
Chaos;Child らぶchuchu!! AKA Chaos;Child Love chuchu!! offers everything a typical Visual Novel has to offer. There a weird love story, half-naked girls and different endings (bad, good and true). But it plays a little bit different than other Visual Novels. At the beginning, you need to choose some pictures in the correct order. This is the followed by 2 sections in which you must choose between yes and no a few times. In the last part of the game you must choose between Positive and Negative by pressing L2 respectively R2.

What about trophies?
As in any other Visual Novel, you get most of the trophies by advancing through the story and reaching different endings. Of course, there are also trophies like getting 100% CG or reading all tips. If you follow the awesome trophy guide on ps3imports.org, you should be able to unlock the Platinum Trophy in approximately 1 hour. There’s also a Vita version available for this game which has a separate trophy list. So, you could play both versions simultaneously and unlock 2 Platinum Trophies at the same time.

Where can I get this game?
The easier and faster way to get the PS4 version is the Japanese PSN Store. For this you need a Japanese account as well as a few thousand Yen on your account. If you don’t know how to set-up a Japanese account, watch out this video by my buddy IBadDriverI. Everything is explained in detail. If you need Japanese PSN cards, you can buy them here. There you get digital codes, which will be send to you via e-mail within minutes.
In case you prefer physical over digital versions, you can buy this game at play-asia.com or solarisjapan.com. The game is cheaper there but you must consider transport costs and import taxes from Japan to the country you live in.

As a trophy hunter, should I get this game?
Yes! This game is short and easy. It’s definitively worth buying when you want to get a fast Platinum Trophy. As already mentioned, there are 2 different versions of this game (one for PS4 and one for Vita) which can be played simultaneously. Just don’t forget that your games are locked to one user on the Vita. This means you may want to buy the physical Vita version of this game.

Platinum #198: Steins;Gate 0 (JP PS4 Version)

Hey there!

In my case, this meant get 2 games for the price of 1 as I’ve chosen Steins;Gate 0 and Chaos;Child らぶchuchu!! (both for PS4), as they had the same price. Today I’m gonna tell you something about Steins;Gate 0. If you want to know more about Chaos;Child らぶchuchu!!, check out my next blog.

What is the game all about?
Steins;Gate 0 is a Visual Novel, which has already been released in Japan end of December. Since November 2016 it’s also available in Europe and America. It belongs to the scientific adventures, which are published by 5pb. The game takes place before, after and in-between its predecessor (Steins;Gate). Confusing? Yes, but as it’s all about time traveling, it makes sense at the end. Kinda…

What about trophies?
As in any other Visual Novel, you get most of the trophies by advancing through the story and reaching different endings. Of course, there are also trophies like getting 100% BMG or reading all tips. If you follow the awesome trophy guide on ps3imports.org, you should be able to unlock the Platinum Trophy in approximately 1 hour. This guide also works perfectly for all different versions of the game. Wait, did you say different versions? Yes, it’s stacking time! :-) As of today, there are 7 different versions. These are: JP PS3, JP PS4, JP Vita, KR PS4, KR Vita, EU/NA PS4 and EU/NA Vita. Sadly, EU and NA share the same list. What a shame! ;-)

Platinum #197: Steins;Gate (JP PS3 Version)

Hey there!

Platinum #200 was getting nearer and nearer and I wanted to reach it as fast as possible. Thus, I decided to keep looking out for some Visual Novels, as most of them can be completed in a very short time without much effort. Luckily, I found a very cheap copy of “Steins;Gate” on eBay. Personally, I’d suggest to always buy used copies of Visual Novels and eBay is a good place to look for them. You can also buy them directly via play-asia.com or solarisjapan.com, but keep in mind that those games are expensive and that you might have to pay import taxes.

I’ve already completed to different versions of this game so I knew that I’d need roughly 2 hours for this game. Yeah, that’s what I thought but it turned out that I was wrong.

I started the game and followed the guide I found on ps3imports.org. Soon I had to realize that the guide doesn’t work the way it used to. The game doesn’t automatically stop at choices – or in this case e-mails – and trophies didn’t unlock when they should. I had really a hard time as I had to start over and over again and manually stop at the correct moments. My first playthrough of the game took me several hours and I was missing a lot of trophies I should have unlocked along the way. I decided to stop playing for today and get back to the game later again. I was really angry because I didn’t know what went wrong. Everyone else who was following this guide has completed the games without any issues.

On the next day, I started the game again. I still haven’t had any idea what went wrong, so I started reading the guide again from the beginning. The first thing I did was entering the settings of the game and behold, there was the mistake. One of the settings I did was wrong. I changed it to the way it should be and started the game. Now I could use auto-skip and the game automatically stopped at the correct moments. What a relief! I was able to complete the second playthrough without any issues. Unfortunately, I was missing a few trophies from the first playthrough, so I had to do a little clean-up. All in all, I was able to unlock all missing trophies on this day within 1.5-2 hours.

As you can see, an easy game could become your worst nightmare if you don’t follow the instructions correctly.

In the end, I must admit that I don’t regret playing this game. Yes, I wasted some time and it took me longer than planned but this was due to my own stupidity. At least I learned to be more carefully.

I can recommend this game to any trophy hunter who’s out for a quick Platinum Trophy. There are also many different versions of the game. I think there are 9 or 10 Platinum Trophies you could unlock. And if you want to save some time, you can always play one PS3 and one Vita version at the same time.

What’s left to say is that the guide on ps3imports.org works perfectly. You just need to make the correct settings!

AvengedEvil

Platinum #196: Tachyon Project (Vita Version)

Hey there!

First things first: Currently there are 6 different trophy lists for Tachyon Project. Only the 2 limited physical releases (one for PS4 and one for Vita) have trophy lists which includes Platinum Trophies. The other 4 lists are only 100% games.

The limited physical Vita version of “Tachyon Project” is exclusively available at play-asia.com. As of today, they still have a few copies left. If they don’t have it anymore, or you don’t want to import the game, you can try your luck on eBay.

I was lucky and got my copy for roughly 25€ via play-asia.com. This collectors box, which is limited to 2000 pieces worldwide, includes the game, the soundtrack, a nice manual and a numbered certificate. This is really a good deal, if you consider the low price. Check out the video by my friend IBadDriverI below, if you want to see more.

“Tachyon Project” is a nice and easy Shoot ‘Em Up. Even a shmup noob like me can complete this game within a few hours. There are 10 different levels, consisting of several waves, to beat. After every level, you’ll advance with the story and you’ll encounter new enemies, including 4 bosses. The graphics are good and the soundtrack fits perfectly to the game. Unfortunately, the section you see on the Vita is much smaller compared to the PS4 version. This increases the difficulty only slightly but it has a tremendous impact on the fun factor, at least for me. Personally, I do prefer the PS4 version over the Vita version.

Most of the trophies are story related or will unlock naturally while progressing through the game. There are only a few trophies which are related to specific weapons, which means that there’s nearly no grinding / clean-up necessary after beating level 10.

All in all, I must say that I was really surprised by this game and that the 25€ were well spend. Not only I got an easy “limited” Platinum Trophy, I also got a very nice collectors box of a game. I think this is a perfect game for trophy hunters as well as collectors.

Platinum #195: Energy Balance (EU PS4 Version)

Hey there!

“Energy Balance” is a logical game in which you need to sum up numbers in rows and columns to reach given sum at the end of each row / column. This may sound simple, and it is actually very easy for the first few levels, bet the difficulty increases with every level.

To unlock the Platinum Trophy, you first need to complete all 12 levels in NORMAL mode. Here I’d say that the first 7-8 levels are doable without much problems. From level 9-12 the game becomes very difficult. But after a few retries you should be able to beat them all. The trick is to stay focused and to find the right spot to start. As soon as this is done you’re able to enter HARDCORE mode. Here you must beat 4 levels. Level 1 and 12 are easier than the last levels in NORMAL mode but levels 3 and 4 are just a pain in the ass. It took me a lot of retries, and a lot of hours, just to beat those 2 levels. And after beating HARCORE level 4 it’s still not done. There are still these four SQUARE mode levels you must complete. Luckily, they aren’t really that hard and you shouldn’t have to much issues in beating them. It’s just trial and error. After beating the last level, the Platinum Trophy for “Energy Balance” will be yours.

If you’re good at Java programming, you can take advantage of the algorithmic solution that can be found on psnprofiles.com. I tried it with one of my secondary accounts but failed awfully due to my lack of programming skills. So, please use it at your own risk.

After failing to get the algorithmic solution to work, I decided to do this game legit. As I didn’t know how long this will take to complete, and as I didn’t want to have another incompleted game in my trophy list, I decided to create my first blank account ever. With this, I could play the game whenever I had time and it didn’t affect my overall completion percentage. Maybe I’ll make use of blank accounts more often now. If you don’t know what a blank account is, you might check out this video by StayPationt Trophies:

There are 4 versions of this game available in the PSN stores. These are: EU PS4, EU Vita, NA PS4 and NA Vita, which are all very cheap. This means that you can unlock up to 3 Platinum Trophies with this game. But I want to warn you once again. It might be easy when you get the algorithmic solution to work but it’s for sure very hard if you do it legit. It’s best to test this game with a secondary or blank account first.

Platinum #193: Burly Men At Sea

Hey there!

I’m very sorry, I haven’t found any time the last days to update my blog but I’ll promise to post more frequently again from now on. As you can see on my profile (top of the screen) I’ve already over 200 Platinum Trophies. This means my posts are a little bit behind but I’ll try to catch up as soon as possible.

Now let’s come to “Burly Men At Sea”. It is a really nice adventure, which shows perfectly that you don’t need high-end graphics or special effects to deliver a good product. In fact, this game is as minimalistic as it can be. Not only in terms of graphics, also in terms of controls. You only need one analog stick and two buttons to play it.

The story is story driven and depends highly on the choices you make. You take control of a group of 3 burly seamen, who got engulfed by a whale. Your task is now to bring them home safely. There are several different ways to do so. The path the 3 seamen take depends on the choices you make.

In terms of trophies this game is very simple. All you need to do is reach all endings to unlock the Platinum Trophy of this game. Don’t worry, the playthroughs are very short and the game can be completed within a couple of hours, if you know what you’re doing. I’d suggest to follow the video walkthrough by IBadDriverI at the end of this blog, if you want to complete the game quickly.

“Burly Men At Sea” is available for 9.99€ as cross-buy (PS4 and Vita) in the PSN store. Unfortunately, there’s only one stack for this game. So, you can play it on PS4 and Vita but you’ll only be able to unlock this Platinum Trophy once. Alternatively, you could also buy the Maestro Beard Edition for 14.99€, which includes the game (PS4 and Vita) as well as the soundtrack and an avatar.
